I haven´t seen the movie yet but I´ve read online that a part of the new A-Team movie in actually playing here in Frankfurt. Then the dissapointment, its supposed to be Frankfurt, but its actually Vancouver badly disguised as Frankfurt with some german signs and cars. And it isn´t even well made. Only the aeral shots are made in Frankfurt... Well, again almost...

Huh! Now bite my toe nails and call me Ginger, I´ve never noticed that big cathedral before when I got out of our central station for work... Of course that is NOT the central station of Frankfurt, its the central station of Cologne! So much for geography, people... But it doesn´t stop here, lets look at some shots from the "Frankfurt" set, shall we?

Oh, this one cracked me up, I don´t even know where to start... Frankfurt is using modern citybusses by european producers like Solaris, Mercedes and Volvo, not some crappy american busses, there is no busline "09" that ends at the Kaiserstraße (which is the high street of our redlight district btw.), They got the logo of the VGF (Frankfurt transit company) and their nasty turquoise colour right, but Frankfurt busses are completely turquoise and not white with a turquoise stripe ( I have to admid it looks better thean the real colour sceme thou...).

Some cop extras. At least they got the uniforms right, even the basecaps the police here wears sometimes, but thats where it stops. The numberplates: The police cars here have not "BP" on their numberplates (BP used to be the code for the german post when it was still stateowned BP = Bundespost), its "WI" for Wiesbaden, the statecapital of Hesse. The code for the city of Frankfurt on the Main is not "FF", which is "Frankfurt on the Oder" in Eastern Germany, its just "F". And an "F" does the person deserve who did the resarch here. The emergency call in Germany is "110" not "109", the SEK (german SWAT) doesn´t write "SEK" on their vans.

"Stadtbücherei Frankfurt am Main" - last time I checked our metropolitan library looked a tad bit different. Also the cab, cabs in Germany have a yellowish cream-ivory colour, not silver.
This is really awfull. I mean I wonder if they have been that sloppy only in this movie or in most other movies? C´mon people a little research isn´t THAT hard, a monkey with google can do it! Example citybus. Go on Google photosearch, type in "Citybus Frankfurt Main" and voilá:

Second entry, this is how a bus in Frankfurt looks like. Type in "Numberplate Frankfurt Main"...

Third entry.
If doing it right is so simple, why are they keep on doing it wrong? Are they dumb or just lazy?

:-D
I've actually watched this movie with my girlfriend yesterday at the offical German press event.

In generell the movie rocks und is quite well done, if you just don't consider it an A-Team movie.
But the whole Frankfurt thing just cracked us up! What you can't know yet but I have to mention it is that even in the movie it is depicted, that there is a gigantic lake surrounded by mountains not even an hour drive away from Frankfurt. Mostly all Frankfurt references are the crap :-D

The Police thing could be a matter of restrictions though. In the UK and France there are certain prohobition of what you may show of real police info in nondocumentary movies.
